While Taylor Swift was in the press room talking about Kanye West running in and interrupting her acceptance speech, Kanye was updating his blog (perhaps because he’d been kicked out of the show shortly after the whole thing went down?) and he had this to say:
I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!
He then added a shout-out to Serena Williams. Kindred spirits, you know.
Meanwhile, Swift (while standing about 10 feet away from me) said she was offended by the whole thing after being excited that Kanye was on stage with her initially. I’m glad her mom stuck up for her too!
POSSIBLY INEVITABLE 11:51 p.m. UPDATE: Kanye’s site is now down for “upgrades.”
Istill think tht Vma's 2003 was the greatest! but this year came for it!! Janet & Pink win best performances, Lady Gaga & Kanye = WTF, Gaga tried 2 hard, that wasn't art, and Kanye needs a slap. Russel, shut the fuck please. Beyonce is 1 ellegant woman, we all need 2 stop hatin on her, cuz she is the hardest workin woman, no person in the industry. The MJ doc looks Epic. Jigga n A keys repped.
Live Videos by Ustream
EPIC CONCERT!! Mary J, Kid Kudi, Pharrell, Beyonce, Kanye, Rihanna, John Mayer, Bleek, Santogold, Diddy and much more all came out and repped!! heres the full concert:
I do, i'm sry, i'm probably not meant to as i'm a guy, but fuck it, i like them. Anyway, i was having this argument with my boys, they were saying that Mutya (ex suga) is the fittest in the band, i still think its Kiesha. Anyway, the main reason for this post, was to show you this:
They can sssiinngg right, this is much better than that Cheryl Cole tune, i probably like it more than Alexandra Burkes new tune. Alexandra, Cheryl and Leona, your gunna have to come harder than this is you wanna be up there, well minus Leona as shes already there. First Up: Alexandra Burke Feat. Flo Rida - Bad Boys
I like it, i do, she sounds good, sounds like shes gunna bring it haaarrdd in da video, nah i give it a deffo 7.1 out of 10, its not a 7.5 or 8 till i see the video and performance lol. p.s. I think they made the right decision on musical style and first single choice.
I give the girl ratings for the lyrics, no seriously, a song like this could of sounded seriously cheesy, and in a strange artistic way, it doesn't. its not as good as bleeding love, but BL was something that you got court up in the moment with (it being her first single and all). I give it a strong 7.9 out of 10.
No No No, from the promo shots, to the song itself, its all a big no. i like Cheryl, i even like the tone to her voice, but this song makes her sound bland. OK, i respect the fact shes tryna do the Pop tinged R&B stuff, i actually applaud her for her courage (remember the whole Victoria Beckham and Dam Dash thing). But this song is just toooooo ok for people to care, and its doesn't help that shes a judge on X factor, cause now shes gunna get people saying, "why is she judging when she cant sing herself". I for one think she can sing, i just know for a fact, that this song, and this certain vocal performance isn't what she needs to make her point. I give this an Ugly 4.6, could be a 5 if she sings this great live and has a good video to match. I had to give you the whole picture, just so you understand where my nooooooo's were coming from lol.
Ok so i saw this and nearly jeezed lol. Aaliyah to me was what you call the beacon of how an R&B songstress should be. The reason as to why its so hard for female R&B artists these days to sound original, was because Timbaland and Aaliyah all ready did it. Even today her songs still sound like they just got released. So in tribute of her, practically all of my favourite UK soul artists, have made a collective CD revisiting her tunes, and adding there own twist to it. as i said, i jeezed!! Thanks to Soul Culture.

Whitney Houston - I Look To You Last night, the legendary Clive Davis hosted a listening session for Whitney Houston’s new album I Look To You, which is in stores September 1st. Held at Jazz @ Lincoln Center in New York City, the event was packed with stars like Martha Stewart, Gayle King, Dionne Warrick, Alicia Keys (in the house with Swizz Beats!) LA Reid, Andre Harrell, Diane Sawyer, BET’s own Debra Lee and Stephen Hill – and the iconic Whitney Houston, who was absolutely stunning. She looked happy, grateful and beautiful. When Whitney hit the stage for a small speech the person next to me said,”That’s m*thaf**kin’ Whitney Houston!“ The diva received a standing ovation from a crowd (and the world!) who has been waiting for the return of the original pop-soul diva.
I was lucky enough to attend and here is a preview of the seven new tracks that were played (two leaked tracks were played, “Like I Never Left” featuring Akon and “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster). I wasn’t able to catch every producer’s name or the exact lyrics so the credits are subject to change. Note: Clive Davis did stress the songs were still being polished.
1. “Million Dollar Bill” (written and produced by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats)
An up-tempo, joyful track about love and probably one of the funkiest songs Whitney has ever done. “Million Dollar Bill” has an amazing bass line and almost recalls early Michael Jackson in Off The Wall. The catchy hook, “You make me feel like a million dollar bill.” Her vocal is strong with some power notes toward the end. The song has an Alicia Keys sound but fits for Whit — it’s current without making her seem like she is trying to compete with teenagers. The song received a standing ovation.
2. “Nothin’ But Love” (produced by Danja)
Whitney’s shout out to those who her love her and those who hate on her, she’s got “Nothin’ But Love” for all of them. Completely up-tempo and definitely an R&B club track that has the potential of sounding even hotter with a remix. The vocal stays around her lower register and, again, holds some classic Nippy notes at the end.
3. “Call You Tonight” (produced by Stargate)
Fun, mature and a song everyone can relate to. Heavily produced and while it can be tough to adjust to a pure vocalist like Whitney sing to a production heavy song, the mid-tempo track works for this album. “Call You Tonight” sounds like one of the better tracks from Just Whitney. Some lyrics include, “Destiny, I believe in it” and “I wish I could stay but I got to go, I’ll call you tonight.”
4. “Salute” (written and produced by R. Kelly)
Whitney is saying goodbye to a lover who has done her wrong, but she is letting go with no anger and confidently sings, “I salute you.” Could she be channeling Bobby Brown? The song is strictly R&B and almost sounds similar to “Heartbreak Hotel” from the My Love Is Your Love album. More instruments than production with keys and a strong vocal from Whitney. One line, “You think you know everything, you think your sh*t don’t stink.”
5. “I Look To You” - R. Kelly
Say what you want about R. Kelly but the man can still make a good R&B song. “I Look To You” is the title track and my favorite song so far. Beautiful lyrics like, “As I lay me down, heaven hear me now.” Her voice is deeply powerful, channeling classic Whitney with a pop sense but an R&B vocal. This song proves that she has not lost her voice and it’s definitely a melody I cannot wait to hear live. Whitney clearly feels every line and chord, charging through the ballad, transcending her own experience and reaching others who have been through adversity. Whitney has been criticized for not being emotional enough in her music — this track knocks out that complaint. From where I could see, Bobbi Kristina, Whitney’s daughter, was getting emotional during the song.
6. “Worth It” (R. Kelly)
“This song is for the lovers…” is one of the lines. Youthful and radio friendly, another R&B track. Nothing much to add about this one, enjoyable to listen to and had folks in the audience bobbing their head — I think I even saw a few head nods from Martha Stewart!
7. “A Song For You” (produced by Stargate)
Popularized by Donny Hathaway, “A Song For You” is a new spin on the Leon Russell classic. The beginning starts slow and the crowd gasped when they realized what song she was singing. Whitney sounded incredible, nearly haunting and before you knew it the song turns into a club banger! Mr. Davis explained the song was recorded just the night before. Definitely one for those who loves Whitney’s club tracks.
Overall, the nine tracks that were played received a good response. The album definitely has the potential to be a hit. For Whitney, there is no such thing as a “comeback” — icons “don’t call it a comeback,” they just jump back in the game whenever they are ready. One thing I do know is no one should expect 1985 Whitney. Artists evolve and it’s limiting when we trap performers in a particular box or era. The best piece about the tracks is that Whit has some grit to her voice, her vocals are still strong but she doesn’t mind getting a bit nasty with it. While the album isn’t finished, I believe folks will be pleasantly surprised.
Are you looking forward to the new Whitney album?
PS. Clive Davis is 77 years old and stood on that stage for nearly an hour, introducing Whitney, telling stories, making jokes and setting up each song! This is a man from the old school and knows how to work a project! Gotta give respect to Professor Davis!
so google keep on deleting my shit without telling me, they deleted my michael jackson tribute post then tried to delete my whitey houston shit, well here it is again if u didn't get it first time.
New Whitey Houston - I Didn't Know My Own Strength
Its ooookkkk, when Clive Davis said they wanted old skool whitney, i didn't know this is what he meant, thought we were gunna get that quit storm soul sound from her first album with hits like 'Saving All My Love For You' & 'You Give Good Love', the song is good, but whitney's gunna have to come better than this, in an industry where voices like Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis and the rest of these great young vocalists are releasing material that is popular yet with its own unique edge. I think David Foster & Dianne Warren could of been abit more adventurous with the arrangment ane lyrics but none the less, its a good enough track, that shows whitney's vocals (how ever more strained her voice sounds) isn't completey gone, infact she sounds pretty damn good (not great) but really good.
so yeh, i have always been a fan of Mark Ronson, and i remember back in 2004, i went to the Roc-a-fella Urban Music Seminar (uk) and someone was giving out different mixtapes, i remember getting this mixtape and it was the Mark & Samantha Ronson Get High mixtape, i didn't even know who these two peeps were before this mixtape and ofcourse both of there carreers got big in the game and look where there both at now. anyway nuff talking here it is:
Dirt McGirt - Lift Ya Skirt Beanie Sigel ft. Rhymefest, Cam'ron, and Samantha Ronson - Wanted The Dramatics - In The Rain Mobb Deep - Got It Twisted (Samantha Ronson Remix) Wang Chuang - To Live in Die in LA Robert Palmer ft. Biggie - I Didn't Mean To Turn You On (Samantha Ronson Remix) Prince - I Feel You Beastie Boys - Check It Out (Samantha Ronson Remix) Beastie Boys - Triple Trouble The U.N. - Get Ya Bitch Fiona Apple ft. Mos Def - Limp (Mark Ronson Remix) Outkast - B.O.B. (Samantha Ronson Remix) Modest Mouse - Float On Floaters - Float On Pharrell ft. Jay-Z and MJ - Frontin (Samantha Ronson Remix) Jay-Z - One and a Million Daniel Mariweather - Pot of Gold Kayne West - School Spirit Linda Lyndell - What a Man The Roots - Stay Cool De La Soul - Ego Tripping Pt. 2 Tom Scott - Today (Mark Ronson Remix) Pete Rock and CL Smooth - T.R.O.Y. Rhymefest - Breakdance Samantha Ronson - Built This Way (Remix) Marvin Gaye - Sexual Healing (Samantha Ronson Remix) Player - Baby Come Back Yung Wun ft. David Banner, Lil Flip, and The AM - Tear It Up (Mark Ronson Remix) The AM - Spell Bound Beanie Sigel - Purple Rain The Dramatics - In The Rain
So whats with all the Roc-A-Fella on this mixtape? In 2002 Samantha Ronson was the first 'rock' act signed to Jay and Dame's label. And how did the step kids of the guitarist from Foreigner sign to one of the biggest rap labels in the world? Dame Dash hired Charlotte Ronson, Samantha's twin sister, to help design a line through Roc-a-Wear when he discovered both Ronson's musical talents. Samantha was slated to release an album in 2004 titled Red produced by herself, her brother, and Dallas Austin, but was shelved permanently when her single "Pull My Hair Out" received little radio airplay. She parted ways with the label and continues to DJ around the world. Why is she relevant today? Well...she's not. She's received more press extinguishing Lindsay Lohan's firecrotch than her brother Mark winning the Grammy for Producer of the Year.
* “Why R U?” (produced by The Buchanans) * “Tell Me You Love Me” (produced by Teddy Riley) * “Pretty Brown” (featuring Trey Songz) (produced by M-Phazes) * “Heard ‘Em All” (produced by Sean Garrett & Eric Hudson) * “Red Eye” (produced by Brian Michael Cox) * “Different People” (produced by M-Phazes) * “More Than Love” (produced by The Buchanans) * “Higher” (produced by Warryn Campbell) * “Swagback” (produced by Jim Jonsin) * “Breakups 2 Makeups” (produced by Cool & Dre)
Here is what the singer had to say about the tracks featured on the LP.Amerie on “Tell Me U Love Me”:
“I didn’t really have to say much to Teddy. I told him I wanted something signature ‘me’. He knew exactly what to do. It was like magic. I wrote that record freestyling in the vocal booth after hearing it for the first time. Killer”.
Amerie on “Higher”:
“I told Warren [Campbell] I wanted a live, hard, rock sound, something mean, something with swagger. I wanted the intrumentation to have a strong personality before I even opened my mouth. He started playing the bass guitar, and I was sitting there creating the lyrics and melody and it all came together really organically. That’s what I mean when I say that this album, in addition to being an extension of my first, is also an extension of ‘1 Thing’ because ‘1 Thing’ has its go-go roots but it’s also very soulful, ‘70’s rock. I went from that and took it all the way live”.
Amerie on “Why R U“:
[The song] is about being in a relationship and hating that you’re so attached to this person. A lot of the songs on this album deal with wanting to be done with a relationship but you’re just not really ready to leave, so you hang around and wait for a person to change. I really wanted the lyrical content to be real conversation. I didn’t want anything to be sugar-coated”.
Amerie on the idea behind “In Love & War”:
“This album is very personal, whether I’m talking about my own past situations or situations the people close to me went through. I really wanted to make sure that everything I was writing wasn’t too far from myself”.
She added:
“Usually I’d get a raw instrumental, and from there I’d pick out parts and sounds, and then format them to create the arrangement of the song. Once I wrote and vocaled, I’d talk to the producer again about adding additional instrumentation I felt was necessary, like strings, additional keys, building the bridge, just basically formatting the record”.
She concluded by:
“For this album, I told people I needed music that was really heavy, something with knock. Nothing too pretty; I wanted something that sounded ‘70’s-ish, when rock had a lot of soul in it, and it was still so related to the blues. And of course it needed that hip-hop element”.
The album that seemed like it would never be released is finally upon us. Though Ciara had many set back to release her third studio album, all it took was some help from label mate and superstar Justin Timberlake. With all previous singles failing to impact, her current single "Love Sex Magic" has made a peak of #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. As for the rest of the album, though must of it has been surfing the web for some time it still maintained an enjoyable listen. It's filled with smooth R&B tracks and the usual upbeat club bangers Ciara is always there to supply. I wouldn't say I'm completely impressed by the album but I can say I will be enjoying for some time. Deff check it out and BUY YOUR COPY MAY 5TH!!

OK, so i get it, everyone has there own opinion, but really, why the hell should peoples negative ones matter. Frankly, if someone wants to do something original and different, let them be, life isn't all about fitting in to the norm, its about experience!! Be bold and daring, be creative and keep reaching.
This is all incoherent to cassies new look, which everybody seems to hate (apart from those who are unique in there own right). I like it, everyone seems to go on like its too bold and too crazy, but theres alot of successful models (Alice Dellal) out there and artists (J*Davey - Jack Davey) and fashion designers ( Kesh Kay) that have been rocking this look for tttttiiiiiimmmmmeeeee!!!!!
Cassie ain't done nuttin new, shes just finding new meanings and ways of... BEING HERSLEF, finding her inner creativity, and doing what we should all be doing - not giving a fuck what people think and living life as we see it!!
Rock on Cassie, cause i'm feelin it!!!
Jack Davey of J*Davey
Alice Dellal (supermodel) Kesh Kay (fashion designer)
Me & J*Davey Myself last year, chopped it all off & now have a high top, but thts not the point!!!! Cassie = Wifey Kesh Kay = hhhhaaarrdd ccorree!!!!
Ok this is a hhuuggee shocker for me, not only am i shocked that my drummer got the front cover for the first issue of Japan Vogue Homme (i mean this kid was a slacker back in the day loolz), but the fact that he got to work with the best, Hedi and Nicola are aammaazziing at what they do, this is huge for him, and i guess huge 4 us loolz, oh btw his name is Ash Stymest and his London agency is Models 1's. Making it debut sometime in the near future, we get a sneak peek at Vogue Hommes Japan, with a slew of big names involved in the pictorial process including the likes of Hedi Slimane, Oliviero Toscani, and Josh Olins the first issue is something to look forward to. Combining the fashion direction of Nicola Formichetti, who himself is involved with every brand known to man, Vogue Hommes plans to be a huge addition to any fashionista’s magazine library.
This album is pretty bangin, probably better than Nas-N, lyrically its probably his best work, the production is top notch, and the appearances: Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown, Chrisette Michele, Common, Ice Cube, Keyshia Cole, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Marsha Ambrosius (feature on the mixtapes), Mary J. Blige (feature on the mixtapes), Nas, Ne-Yo, Raekwon, Raheem DeVaughn, Fabolous & Robin Thicke.
Here's Solange's New Album which i LLOOOVVEE, its amazing, very original, very artistic and very soulful. She touches on Pop, R&B, easy listening, soul, jazz, blues, 60's Motown and electro {DOWNLOAD}:Solange - SoL-AngeL and the Hadley St. Dreams
Everyone knows i love my Estelle (look i'm even saying her name like i know the girl personally lol) anyway here's her new joint that i predicted would sell higher then American Boy, saying that, the video isn't really that special so shes gunna have a hard time with it. All in all the vocals are nice, Cee-Lo doesn't overpower the song, and the production goes well, just a shame the video at all that great
I'm so happy that Whitney's back, OK so the tune isn't amazing, but its good enough, it shows that her voice hasn't completely gone, she may once have been a soprano, but now an alto, meaning she can't hit the notes needed in her most popular songs like: i will always love you, and so on, but this new material shows that she is working for a sound that is not only her, but still contemporary and chart worthy. It features another man of the moment - Akon. I mean i think akon is cool and all, but can someone shout out: Over Exposure?!?!?!? damn try-hard, anyways, he doesn't spoil the tune, he kinda compliments it, but that doesn't mean to say, i want to hear more of him. OK, so before i carry on, let me just give you the damn song looolz.
Was never a huge fan of Micheal Jackson, probably because i was only around through the whole peddo thing, so i was told that the man was scary and was to never go near him (his music loolz), but i'm loving these new tunes. Ok so they have been out for awhile now, but as i said, i haven't been doing this for a long . Cuz i Can is said to be produced by man of the moment - Polow Da Don, and Hold my Hand is a song written by Claude Kelly produced by Akon.
